How to choose your models

People always ask me how I find my models and I tell them " thru Instagram." Many of the models that I work with have never modeled before. I started by just asking people if they wanted to try to model and most of the time they are excited to do so. The main thing that allows you to build your model contacts is your portfolio! Many people see a super model and immediately want to model them. you have to build your way there even though you may think you are ready she may be working with people who are way better than you. This shouldn't discourage you. This should motivate you. I have found that as I am progressing in my portfolio I am starting to work with more elite models. If your passionate about this just keep working on you will get there!!!! The Image you see below is of the always beautiful Ashley Tejeda! Working with her the first time I found her to be still very amateur so I was able to teach her poses and to focus on different model faces. we have both grown together and now every time I work with her I don't have to worry about my model not giving me 110%. She is an example of an amazing model crafted by me and she is very loyal and thankful I was able to show her the ropes. I encourage her to work with other photographers to learn new things and to expand her knowledge. When she comes back to shoot again we talk about her shoots and how we can do something to the next level this keeps her portfolio fresh and allows me to get ahead of my competition.
